Entertain the kids this Thanksgiving with meaningful crafts thanks to Melissa of Green Owl Art. Be inspired to turn off the television and break out the art bin for some simple, yet enticing crafts. Create burlap banners to decorate the fireplace or make pumpkin-pie playdough. These fun ideas make me want to join in as well.
Thanksgiving Banner
burlap (1/2 a yard makes two banners)
hot glue gun
letter stamps
acrylic paint
twine
First, cut a triangle out of paper the size that you want for the banner. Mine are about 4 inches long. I think it depends on how long your word is and the space it will be hung.
Next, stamp the letters on each triangle with acrylic paint. Once the paint is dry you can start gluing. Just glue the triangle onto the twine and fold over to attach it to itself. Remember to leave room on the ends to hang.
Pumpkin-Pie Playdough
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tsp cream of tartar
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tbs vegetable oil
1 cup water
orange food color (or 2 parts yellow, 1 part red)
Pour all ingredients into a pot. Add food color until you get the desired color. Cook and stir constantly over medium heat until a large ball forms. Knead on a floured surface until smooth. Let cool and pass on to the kids to enjoy!

My children would love this!!!
I wish my granddaughter was here, she and I love to play with play dough, I never thought of pumpkin dough. I like it!
