Giveaway #10: Custom Chore Chart (closed)

Need to motivate your kids to help around the house and mind their “p’s and q’s?” This awesome chore system by Tonya at More than a Memory AK might just be the ticket for you and your family. Using magnetic “chore buttons” and cute metal boards, your kids can be active participants in picking out tasks to complete and keeping track of when they are done.

How it works: The chore system centers around one large magnetic chore board and individual, personalized magnetic boards for each child. Each chore is broken down and listed on a magnet. You can choose to have a monetary value attached to it or not. Once a child performs that chore, they move that magnet onto their personalized board to track progress. This gives kids a clear understanding of what needs to be done and recognizes when they have done it.

We use our chore chart for basic chores and also acknowledging good listening, showing kindness, saying please and thank you, and apologizing. I chose not to have a monetary value on our chore chart, which allows me to alter the price as they grow older. Currently, we are awarding a quarter for each chore/manner accomplished.
