  • Lotions+Potions (your sunblock and hand sanitizer now have a home)
  • Me+Mine (cel phone, keys and a good book for those car naps)
  • Dipes+Wipes (you can take this straight into the bathroom without lugging your whole bag with you for quick changes)
  • Shirts+Socks (I was able to fit a a full outfit, light sweater, socks, underwear and a pair of pajamas in the bag)
  • Snacks+Supplies (A few non-persihable snacks, notebook and colored pencils)

hey sugarsnap files for mom organization

When I received my sugarSNAP files in the Wyatt design (black and white pattern), I just felt at peace. A beautiful organization system designed by someone who really “gets” me. I want to jump out and give the two mommies behind this product a huge hug. The founders and read deal mamas of twins, Stacy and Tarah, thought of everything with these labels, so the mommy brain doesn’t have to work so hard. The set even includes a checklist of items to pack. This makes it perfect for you to give to a dad or babysitter.

The small bags fit perfectly into your existing diaper bag, tote, purse, backpack or you can just clip it inside your car and take which bag you need when you need it. And with this system, you could ditch the diaper bag all together.

Hey sugarSNAP is just getting started with their genius mommy creations, so stay tuned for their awesome Car-Go System. And if you want to support a mommy-run business, check out their Kickstarter page with just a few days left to go. I am so excited to get a sugarSNAP files set into one mama’s hands! …to keep it simple! Any organizational tips have to be simple for me to follow them. 🙂

    Love this!
The less stuff you own the less there is to make a mess!

  3. Dana P. May 1, 2012 at 11:02 am #

…to start small! Sometimes the idea of trying to organize clutter is so daunting that it is easy to just give up. But, when I task myself with something small to start with that I can actually finish, I feel great and that sense of accomplishment starts a snowball effect.

  4. Allison May 1, 2012 at 11:46 am #

Set goals! It’s easy to get overwhelmed and goals help to prioritize all that needs to get done.

Who needs a diaper bag? Find a large purse with lots of pockets and use it for yourself and your kiddos…way less bulky! Mine is washable too, so when it inevitably gets dirty on the playground or a jar of baby food leaks (yep, that just happened) I can throw it in the washer. I would LOVE a sugarSNAP organizer to help section things off though, as they do tend to get lost in the “black hole” of my big middle pocket. 🙂

“My favorite organization tip is have a place for everything.”

  7. Suzanne May 2, 2012 at 4:19 am #

Pick up as you move through the house. Have a place for everything. I also keep a large tub in the bottom of my children’s closet to put clothes in when they grow out of them.

  8. Kaley May 2, 2012 at 6:40 am #

… to pay attention to storage and display. I’m more motivated to keep things in their spot if the spot is pleasing to the eye. Baskets, colorful bins, apothecary jars, and labels are so easy to incorporate into my closets and around my house and it makes a huge difference.

  9. Melissa Allen May 2, 2012 at 7:54 am #

    …to organize as you go.

My favorite organization tip is to leave a pretty basket by your front door and anything heading out goes in it. Store returns, canvas grocery bags for the car, the plate that goes back to grandma’s…..

  11. Yukino May 2, 2012 at 2:20 pm #

…to organize often! Everyday organizing is a key!

My favorite organizational tip is to process mail as soon as it comes in and open your mail by the recycling bin or trash can.

My favorite organization tip is to group silverware by type in the dishwasher. It seriously saves so much time! I also like the 5-minute, 5-days-a-week rule: take 5 minutes each weekday to clean one teeny area, i.e. a junk drawer, one cupboard, it’s amazing what you can get done in 5 minutes.

  16. Wendy May 6, 2012 at 4:19 pm #

My favorite organization tip is using mobile apps to keep to-do’s handy. I use things like reqall and evernote to do make voice memos while driving, sync up between computer and phone, and keep track of what needs to get done and when.

  17. Jenny Solar May 6, 2012 at 7:48 pm #

my favorite organization tip is the snack packs. I keep all the kids snacks organized in little plastic containers and then we toss 3 of them plus a bar into a snack pack (aka pencil holder!). You can see pictures here:

My favorite organization tip is to not wait until it goes overboard. Do a little a day, keep messes at bay 🙂

My favorite organization tip is to un-clutter before organizing!!! Get that crap out of the way first, and then you can see clearly 🙂

I’ve been tackling stacks of kids’ artwork by keeping a few for framing and taking digital photos of others.

Hope for the best and plan for the worst (and don’t sweat it if you leave a few loads of laundry to another day if it means spending time with the kiddo!)

  28. JHollyhock (aka Jennifer H.) May 15, 2012 at 1:31 pm #

Mine is one that if I followed I would be a much more organized and happy Mama – put things away right away instead of piling stuff up until you don’t know what to do with it.

Be prepared! Think ahead, when you have down time, re-stock your diaper bag and all the other things you need to be successful at outings.

  32. CorrinP May 15, 2012 at 2:29 pm #

For keeping track of pumped breastmilk: I put a dot of different colored nail polish on the tops of each of my storage bottles, and corresponding dots on a dry-erase board on the fridge. That way, when I popped a bottle in the fridge, I could write the date on the board and never lose track.

  34. Catie Young May 15, 2012 at 3:18 pm #

Organize often! That way it does not seem so overwhelming. I need to take my own advice sometimes. 🙂

… do your research first for good ideas and tips.

  36. renee May 15, 2012 at 7:36 pm #

Get everyone involved. If everyone is not helping to organize and declutter on a daily basis, the task will be much harder in the long run.
